Original members: Anthony Hardin, Claude Gray, Jason Hunter, and Lumumba Robert Carson X-Clan is a militantly pro-Afrocentric hip-hop group from Brooklyn, New York. The group was once the cornerstone act of the Blackwatch movement, a collective during the early 1990s, which also included [a=Lin Que], aka [a=Isis (3)] and [a=Queen Mother Rage]. This version of the group disbanded in 1995. Later that year, Sugar Shaft died of AIDS, and in 1996, Brother J released an album with the [a=Dark Sun Riders]. Years later, after the death of [a=Professor X (2)] from spinal meningitis, J formed a new version of X-Clan that included new members Master China, Kumu, Ultraman, ACL, Lord Cza, DJ Fat Jack, and Zulu, which released the album [i]Return from Mecca[/I] in 2007 and [i]Mainstream Outlaws[/I] in 2009, while keeping the group’s message intact.
