Biography
Vanir is a Pagan/Folk metal band from Utrecht, Netherlands In autumn 2007, fire was created and 2 men called Martijn and Mitch crafted the frame of Vanir. Their purpose was to create metal, inspired by Norse Mythology and historical telling from The Netherlands such as: ‘’De Bokkenrijders’’ and ‘’De Witte Wieven’’ Soon an instrumental horde was added to Vanir. This horde consisted out of: bass guitar, rhythm guitar Vanir (NL), synthesizer and lead guitar. In March 2008 they produced a demo called: ‘’Zwaard en Volk’’ and a lot of paths were perfectly crafted for Vanir. With an horde of 6 musicians Vanir hacked their way into venues with songs such as ‘’ Hef de Hoorn op Wodan’’ and ‘’De Walkuren’’ After performed shows with bands as Waylander and Carach Angren. Vanir decided to make some darker music with more black metal influences. After that they produced another demo with the following 2 songs: Hef de Hoorn op Wodan De Laatste Mars der Goden Under the motto of: Den Wanen zullen Heerschen, what is the furious tribe that won a war against the Norse Aesirtribe, Vanir played some great shows on venues in The Netherlands and Belgium since now. Flanders was also conquered and a lot of provinces in The Netherlands too. Vanir pulls out their axes and hacks their way through bombastic metal!
