In 2009, lead vocalist and keyboardist [a=Tyler Joseph], [a=Nick Thomas (6)], and [a=Chris Salih] formed the band as a trio, but after Thomas and Salih departed in 2011, Joseph and new member, drummer [a=Josh Dun], moved forward as a duo.
