American singer and actress, born in Severn, Maryland, on 7 October, 1967. Recorded in 1990 with her younger sisters as The Braxtons (which included Tamar Braxton). Known for her husky alto voice, has won seven Grammy Awards and has sold over forty million records worldwide. Won "Best New Artist" Grammy in 1993. She was married to [a=Mint Condition] keyboardist [a=Keri Lewis] until they divorced in 2008. She is also the oldest cousin of rapper [a=Xzibit].
