Biography

American rock singer, actress and author, with a powerful blues-soaked voice, often referred to as 'The Queen Of Rock 'n' Roll', born 26th November 1939, Brownsville, Tennessee, USA, died 24th May 2023, Küsnacht, Switzerland. Became a citizen of Switzerland and relinquished American citizenship in 2013. Turner began her successful career with hits like "River Deep, Mountain High" alongside husband [a=Ike Turner] in the 1960s, from whom she separated after years of abuse, as she reported in her autobiography "I, Tina". A&M man [a192111] is credited for relaunching her career in the 1980s. Singles such as "What's Love Got to Do with It" and the album "Private Dancer" put her firmly back into the mainstream, along with roles as 'The Acid Queen' in "Tommy" and 'Aunt Entity' in the film "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome". In 2008, Turner came out of semi-retirement and embarked on her "Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour" - one of the largest ticket-sales tours of that year. 'Rolling Stone' magazine has hailed her as "One of the greatest singers of all time", reaching unprecedented heights in stadium-filling Rock.

LYRICS

(T. Kelly & B. Steinberg)
Last night, we tried to touch but we never got close
Last night, we tried to talk, the words got caught in our throats
When we finally fell asleep
We couldn't have been farther apart

[Chorus:]
Look me in the heart
If you think that love is blind
Baby, look me in the heart
And you'll see that I'm so crazy about you baby
And it's not in my mind
Can't you look me in the heart
Look me in the heart

You try, to say, that I'm hiding from you
You act, like a spy, always looking for clues
You've read about my past
But why don't we try to make a new start

[Chorus]

Remember how good we used to be together
Remember baby, to be tender baby
Remember the love we said would last forever
I know we can make it like that again
