The Soul Investigators (originally known as Calypso King and The Soul Investigators) are the house band for [l=Timmion Records]. The band was formed in 1997 in Matinkylä, Espoo, Finland, just outside Helsinki. Their first singles were released in 1998 on their own [l=Jive (2)] label, followed by their debut album, [Link], on New York's [l=Soul Fire] label in 2001. Members of the band founded [l=Timmion Records] in 2000. The band has accompanied a number of acclaimed neo-soul artists, including [a=Nicole Willis], [a=Ernie Hawks] and [a=Bardo Martinez], as well as continuing to release instrumental recordings under their own name.
