Biography
The Secret Stars was an indie rock duo that existed between 1993 and 1998, consisting of close friends Geoff (guitar, vocals) and Jodi (bass, vocals). They named themselves "after all their talented friends who seemed to shine in secrecy". Their first official release was the Wait 7", whose A side brought the band popularity after [a280098] covered it. This duo was a side project of Geoff's, as he was in the band [a196946] at the time. In total, they made 2 LPs, four singles, and two cassettes. There were plans to make a full discography CD around 2002, though it never came to fruition. 3 of their releases are currently on streaming services, this being the 2 LPs and the self-titled cassette. They had around 100 shows in total, and toured 6 times; a couple of concerts were done even after disbanding, though this stopped around 2003. Their site, secretstars.com., had info about the band, such as news, discography, lyrics, pictures, and FAQ. Archives of it run from March 2000 to April 2006, then restarting in 2010; showing the same page until 2024, saying they will be back "mid summer". It went offline in 2025; the domain is for sale. Jodi ran the site, though Geoff also had access to it, as we can see from the humorous May 26, 2002 archive: "Dear Jodi, I accidentally deleted the index file and it's 3AM. I'll fix it soon, promise".
