Biography
Founded in 1953 by Russ and Marian Wolfe to provide musical entertainment to their guests at their Flying W Ranch's Chuckwagon Shows at Colorado Springs, Colorado over the years there have been more than 60 musicians who were members of the "Wranglers." From 1953 until 1957, members ranged from college students to the Sons of The Pioneers. Starting in 1958 there was an attempt to make the members of the Wranglers more permanent. While many of them had lengthy careers spanning several decades, the Wranglers remained a fluid group. Identifying individuals was made difficult by the Ranch's habit of either not listing the members at all, or of only their first names or initials (this applied to Mr. Wolfe himself who was just "Russ" on most of their releases).
