Biography
Chick Corea created his Elektric Band in 1986 to showcase a synthesizer-heavy fusion sound with elements of smooth jazz. Corea settled on a five piece lineup by the second album that featured saxophonist Eric Marienthal, bassist John Patitucci, drummer Dave Weckl, and either Carlos Rios, Scott Henderson, or Frank Gambale on guitar. Corea recorded and toured with the Elektric Band through the mid-1990s. In 2003, Corea reformed the band, and recorded and toured with it periodically through 2018.
