Biography

British synth pop / art rock band founded in 1981 in London and disbanded in 1991. The group had a string of international hit singles including "[Link]", "[Link]", "[Link]", "[Link]", "[Link]" and "[Link]". They moved away from synth-pop to a more experimental form with the album [i][Link][/i] in 1986, and their critical reputation increased. Their final two albums, [i][Link][/i] (1988) and [i][Link][/i] (1991), are highly acclaimed and remain influential to experimental alternative rock genres. With [a=Simon Brenner] out, [a60622] was recruited to assist with the recording of their second album [i][Link][/i] (1984) and he soon became the band's producer and de facto fourth member. He played keyboards and became Hollis' frequent songwriting partner, co-writing all the songs on [i][Link][/i] (1986), [i][Link][/i] (1988) and [i][Link][/i] (1991). Although a major contributor to the band's studio output, [a60622] did not regularly play with the touring band, and was absent from the band's publicity material.

LYRICS

Lay your hands into my head
I've been rude
I don't care what you do
So much heart is not enough
I've seen few
who treat me like you do

My foolish friend
Don't try to live my life
Upon this weary line
My foolish friend
Don't tell me if I'm right

Teenage tears the saving grace
Of this fool
But no-one's watching you

Save this mirror for your face
There are two
No matter what you choose

My foolish friend
Don't try to live my life
Upon this weary line
My foolish friend
Don't tell me if I'm right

When I can really rebel
Yes I'm really saddened

My foolish friend
Don't try to live my life
Upon this weary line
My foolish friend
Don't try to live my life
