Biography

British electronic band, formed in Hartlepool, UK in the early 1990s by Chris Corner and Liam Howe. Members through their history include Kelli Ali (vocals, occasional lyrics – under name [a=Kelli Dayton]), Joe Wilson (bass, guitar, occasional vocals), David Westlake (drums, programming), Ian Pickering (lyrics, occasional vocals, and bass on later live gigs). As of 2019, Simonne Jones joined efforts towards the proposed new album as the band's vocalist. Other contributors to note are Chris Tate (occasional keyboards on later live gigs), and Noel Fielding (very occasional bass on later live gigs/IAMX cross-over period). The group released three studio albums before ceasing activities, as core member Chris Corner turned his focus to his later solo project [a=IAMX]. In 2021, the group confirmed a reformation with plans to release new music, alongside a new website and social media outlets.

LYRICS

I know you know my head's not in this now
Nothing you could keep so keep me down
Like the stones beneath the water that you walk on
To be taller
And the hands you stuck together when you prayed
You'd wait forever
Just another fragile angel heart
Falling down on lead wings torn apart

And words beneath my skin
The ink that you put in
Destroying all the things you've left around
Earthbound's coming down, come down, come down
Come round

So what you have the nerve to call a friend
Is starved of all the sense to make amends
Cause I'm the glass you break to touch
But you never want me much
Like the view across the water from your shoes
Two feet smaller
I know it doesn't pay to be this hurt
Falling off the morning getting worse

And words beneath my skin
The ink that you put in
Destroying all the things you've left around
Earthbound's coming down, come down, come down
Come round

Cause I'm down
I'm down
(x2)
Yes I'm down
Help me, I'm down
Tell me, I'm down
I'm down
