Smokin' Joe Kubek was an American electric blues guitarist and songwriter, born November 30, 1956 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, USA, although he grew up near Dallas. As a teenager, he played for a short while with [a323162], and from the 80s, he played, toured and recorded with [a2966666] until his death. Joe Kubek died from a heart attack in his sleep in Wilmington, North Carolina, on October 11, 2015, shortly before he was due to take the stage at the [b]Pleasure Island Seafood & Blues Festival[/b], headlined by [a15152]. He was survived by his wife since 1999, Phyllis.
