Biography

Australian singer and songwriter, born 18 December 1975 in Adelaide, Australia. Mezzo-soprano; vocal range: 3 octaves and a semitone B2–B5. For full-name credits, please see [a=Sia Furler]. In the early 1990s, Furler started gigging in the Adelaide acid jazz scene and at the age of 17, she joined the jazz-funk band Crisp. By 1997, Furler had left Crisp and debuted as a solo artist with "[Link]", a trip-hop album released under her full name and which sold 1200 copies, mostly in Adelaide. In 2000, Furler (now only releasing under the mononym Sia) scored a top 10 hit with her debut single "Taken For Granted", pairing her unique Australian drawl with the strident strings from Prokofiev's "Romeo & Juliet". Three more mostly downtempo solo albums followed, but most of her international recognition as an alternative pop artist came from her jazzy vocal contributions to several [a=Zero 7] albums, as well as in early 2006 when the track "Breathe Me" became popular on alternative radio, following its feature as the closing song in the series finale of the HBO drama Six Feet Under. Her fifth album, "We Are Born" (2010), moved into a more upbeat pop direction and spawned minor hits. International mainstream success quickly followed when she was featured on a trio of EDM hits by [a=David Guetta] and [a=Flo Rida]. In 2014, now hiding her face in all videos and public appearances, Sia released her million-selling EDM-inspired album (bolstered by iconic videos featuring young dancer Maddie Ziegler choreographed by [a=Ryan Heffington]), and simultaneously became pop's most in-demand songwriter. Furler's songwriting credits include [a=Christina Aguilera], [a=Rihanna], [a=Ne-Yo], [a=Céline Dion], [a=Beyoncé], [a=Katy Perry], [a=Britney Spears] and [a=Eminem]. In 2016, she released her seventh album, "This Is Acting" was released, and featured many "reject" songs, that Sia had written for other artists, but they didn't want them. The album featured the US #1 single, [Link]. A deluxe edition was released later in 2016. In November 2017, Sia released her latest album, [Link], which featured 10 original festive songs, released on CD and Vinyl. In November 2018, a Target Exclusive Deluxe CD was released, which features 3 bonus tracks. In 2018, [a=Labrinth], Sia & [a=Diplo] collaborated to form supergroup [a=LSD (53)]. An album, [Link], was released in April 2019. [a=Peter Furler] is Sia's first cousin.

LYRICS

Remember when we had it all?
Remember when you took my calls?
You were my whole world
You were my whole world
Not a thing said to me
Question now if my heart bleeds
You were my whole world
You were my whole world

I can't stop watching my phone
Can't turn it off
What is wrong with me? I can't, baby
But if you change your mind then I'll miss it
Now I'm crying alone
Hotel's never much fun
Not when there's nobody to catch your tears
Out here

I know
Last night we made some midnight decisions
Did I mess up? Oh God I hope I didn't
It's all a blur when we talk through the liquor
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions

Soothe me now, soothe me, old friend
Warm my body, dunk my head
He was my whole world
He was my whole world
Kill the chattering
Keep the voices from screaming
He was my whole world
He was my whole world

I can't stop watching my phone
Can't turn it off
What is wrong with me? I can't, baby
But if you change your mind then I'll miss it
Now I'm crying alone
Hotel, never much is fine
Not when there's nobody to catch your tears
Out here

I know, last night we made some midnight decisions
Did I mess up? Oh God I hope I didn't
It's all a blur when we talk through the liquor
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions

Pull me out, I wanna fall
Fall into the rabbit hole
Just pull me out, the pain is great
The pain of losin' you today
I'm in here bawling, just a friend
Never thought we'd meet again
But here you are, one more, again
You're calling me
You're calling me

I know, last night we made some midnight decisions
Did I mess up? Oh God I hope I didn't
It's all a blur when we talk through the liquor
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
I always regret midnight decisions
