Biography

Also known as Jvnko, Sewerslvt was an electronic, jungle, breakcore, drum & bass and ambient music project by Australian artist Jvne. Not much is known about their physical appearance nor their voice as they usually use anime representations of themselves and TTS voices in personal non-music videos, with vocal interventions being very rare in their own tracks. Although musically inspired by lolicore producers such as [a1463873] and [a7272436], Sewerslvt puts their own spin on the electronic trend through atmospheric bass-enriched production and musical plating that feels less like a spastic rave and more like a fever dream. Their songs are usually tinged with themes of isolation, depression, doomerism and suicide, along with inheriting somber web references à la [a2225756]. They had first gained notoriety in the wider web-based dance scene through their single “Pretty Cvnt,” off of their self-titled EP. This popularity continued on subsequent tracks and albums such as Draining Love Story and Skitzofrenia Simulation. Today, “Pretty Cvnt” remains Jvne’s most popular and recognizable track, and Draining Love Story stands as one of the most divisive electronic albums of 2020 among music fans. Even though often thought to be very active on social media, Jvne doesn’t seem to be at ease with conventional networks: their public Discord server was eventually closed after alleged conflicts emerged among its members, leading them to create another one that is only available through subscribing to their Patreon, on which they provide spontaneous updates on their state of mind. Despite often believed to hold a Twitter account to their name, Sewerslvt denied being in control of it and only operates through Patreon anymore, since their private Discord was also taken down as malicious users kept mining its data to doxx them. However, Jvne took control of the placeholder Instagram account that was made to their name to announce their final album on October 8, 2021. They also have an online merch website. Although fond of creation for the most part of their short career, Sewerslvt revealed wanting to quit making music in mid-2021. They went on to explain that losing their then-girlfriend to suicide was what motivated their choice, and that compiling their very last album was a specifically painful task as it was supposed to be a “love letter” dedicated to her. After the project’s release in November 2021, it was not until Christmas Eve of 2023—two years later—that Jvne would publish a new track on their streaming services as a primary artist, with a remix. On the 8th of May 2024, Jvne posted an Instagram post and story stating that they would release an EP under the name [a14555353]. This marks their return to publishing music and an attempt to be “reborn [from their] flames”. During 2024, several other EPs would be released under that new name, but still also crediting Sewerslvt. This would also continue in 2025.
