Biography
Sandy & Junior was a Brazilian vocal duo formed by the siglings [a2914384] (1983) and [a4130302] (1984). Sandy was the lead singer of the duo, while Junior was responsible for the backing vocals, as well as playing instruments such as guitar, guitar and drums. Influenced by musicians in the family, a pair saw their professional trajectory in music, made concrete after an appearance on the Som Brasil program, in 1989, where they sang "Maria Chiquinha". They attracted the attention of businessmen and record labels and signed a three-album deal with PolyGram. The following year, they started recording their first album, Aniversário do Tatu (1991), which was certified with gold by Pro-Música Brasil (PMB). As well as the debut album of the duo, Saturday at Night (1992) was produced by [a2782131] (Their father, and member of Brazilian Country Duo [a1132178]) and presents a sound influenced by the country and backcountry. On their third studio album, Tô Ligado em Você (1993), they had an influence of other styles in their music, such as pop. The albums Pra Dança com você (1994) and Você é D + (1995) inherited their success with children and young people. After achieving success and success as child singers, Sandy and Junior consolidated themselves as teen pop stars with Dig-Dig-Joy (1996) and Sonho Azul (1997). In a survey carried out by Crowley Broadcast Analysis, the pair ranked 13th on the list of the most performed artists on Brazilian radio between the years 2000 and 2014.
