Biography

Austin, Texas singer-songwriter, musician of blues and folk music, born February 10, 1964 Joining the Navy was one way for Ruthie to stake out her own path. It was during her time singing for the Navy band Pride that her love for performing became apparent. After leaving the service, Ruthie signed a development deal with Atlantic Records and moved to New York City to pursue a career as a professional musician. A deal with a major label would seem to be a dream come true for a budding artist. But the label wanted Ruthie to hand over her authenticity in exchange for being molded into a pop star. In another bold move, she walked away from the deal and returned to her roots, moving back to the Lone Star State.

LYRICS

It's true
You've got me
Wrapped around your finger
And it seems to me
Seems to me like that's where I belong
You know
How to hold me
And you know how to thrill me
Oh it's just enough to keep me hanging on
Darlin' it's just enough to keep me hanging on

My heart
Is like a yo-yo string
Oh and I'm tied
I'm tied to you right or wrong
My love keeps on growing
And your love keeps right on showing
Oh and it's just enough to keep me hanging on

A love as true as mine
Will make you do most anything
Like hiding tears and heartaches
And dreaming those old silly dreams

Ooh you got me
Where you want me
You just keep me stringing along
Oh and it's just enough to keep me keep me hanging on baby
Oh darlin' just enough to keep me keep me hanging on hanging on hanging on
