Biography
Quin Ivy was a disc jockey turned songwriter crucial to the Muscle Shoals scene in the 1960s. Born June 3, 1937 in Oxford, Mass, USA. Died December 10, 2022. Born as the son of a share cropper, Ivy was a DJ at WMPS in Memphis, TN, and WLAY in Muscle Shoals, AL. He wrote songs with producer [a366660] of [l299088]. In 1965, Ivy opened his [l=Quinvy Recording Studio]. Ivy started his own labels, [l457359] and [l341214], distributed by Atco/Atlantic. He also owned [l1751748] connected to his studio [l1751747]. He also acted as a publisher with [l681224] and [l=Quinvy Publishing Co., Inc.] In the '70s, Ivy sold his studio, earned an M.A. degree from Mississippi State University, and began teaching accounting courses.
