Biography

The vocal-instrumental group Ptaki (The Birds)i was formed in the fall of 1971 in Warsaw, composed of: Anna Stroińska - singing; Wiktor Stroiński - guitar, vocals; Jacek Szczygieł - keyboards, singing, leader; Andrzej Krupiński - drums, singing; Andrzej Rutkowski - bass guitar, singing; Initially, she accompanied Halina Kunicka and Jerzy Połomski on stage and in recordings. Later she performed her own repertoire. The group has made radio and LP recordings, incl. on LP Ptaki , published by Pronit in 1976. She participated in numerous stage and television concerts in Poland and abroad, incl. in France, Germany, Italy and the USSR as well as in the Polish diaspora centers in the USA and Canada. She made the biographical film "Ptaki"at the Television Center in Łódź (dir. Jerzy Woźniak). He is the protagonist of the slogan in the TV version of the "Lexicon of Polish Popular Music" (episode 84, directed by Ryszard Wolański). In 1975, the leader, Jacek Szczygieł, left the band. Until 1978 the formation performed as a quartet: Andrzej Rutkowski - bass guitar, vocal, leader; Włodzimierz Stefanowicz - singing, keyboards; Witold Olszewski - guitar, vocals; Andrzej Delong - drums. After further personnel changes, it operated until 1979 as the Polon group . The team also cooperated with: Wiesława Kubicka, Sława Mikołajczyk and Krzysztof Specjał.
