Biography

Kevin McMahon laid the foundation for Prick in the early 90s, after the dissolution of his band Lucky Pierre. Some Pierre songs were redone under the Prick moniker, and Kevin regularly passed along demos to friend and former Pierre bandmate Trent Reznor. Kevin had a deal with Interscope in place, but was having problems with the label. Reznor would go on to move him under his Nothing sub-label, for the release of his self-titled debut. Prick also found a major opening slot on the David Bowie / Nine Inch Nails Outside tour. Prick generated some mainstream radio play with the small hit 'Animal'. Kevin did not care for the mainstream attention, however. He had disuptes with parent label Interscope, over not wanting to constantly tour, do interviews and other rock band criteria. He ultimately waited out his contract with Nothing, which expired in 1998. He then spent the following 2 years trying to recover the rights to 25 of his songs. Finally, he began to focus on his long-awaited follow-up album, "The Wreckard". In 2002, it was released under his own label, via the internet. Kevin would go on to play occasional live shows and launch new projects, as well as reviving Lucky Pierre.
