Biography

Pankow are the pioneers of Italian EBM/industrial. They formed in Florence in 1979 and started experimenting with electronic machines from 1981. The second singer, [a=Alex Spalck], has been the composer of all the lyrics from their first release, the EP on cassette [Link] (1983), followed by the legendary first EP [Link] on [l=KinderGarten Records] (1984) until 2007. The 1st LP came in 1987 on [l=Contempo Records], [Link] and was produced by pankow-панков and [a=Adrian Sherwood]. 1989 on [l=Contempo Records], [Link] produced by pankow-панков and [a=Rico Conning]. 1990 on [l=Contempo Records] [Link] produced by pankow-панков live album 1992 on [l=Contempo Records], [Link] produced by pankow-панков and [a=Paul Kendall] In 1993 the band split up, Spalck went to live in Australia In 1996 fm released the 5th LP with GB of [a=Limbo] the album named [Link] produced by pankow-панков. 2003 with Alex Spalck back, [Link] out on [l=Minus Habens] and in 2007 with [Link] out on [l=Wheesht]. 2013 on [l=Out of Line] [Link] with the new front-man Bram Declercq, produced by pankow-панков. Pankow were the first Italian electronic band to gain wide success in Europe and the USA, they did a tour of 30 dates in the States at the beginning of the 90s'. The band is currently active and based in Italy/Australia/Belgium with the heads of the band [a=Maurizio Fasolo] and [a=Alex Spalck], the frontman singer [a=Bram Declercq] and Enzo Regi.
