Biography
Swedish musician, singer and lyric composer born in 1929 in Uppsala, Sweden. Thörnqvist, who is still (2022) active as a musician, began his career in 1953, and later in the same decade became one of those who first launched rock music in Sweden. His style, with a broad musical touch and many puns, has been compared to Povel Ramels. Among many famous songs by Thörnqvist can be mentioned ”Rumba i Engelska parken”, ”Dagny”, and ”Varm korv boogie”. In 2016, he was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
