Biography

Nailbomb was the industrial/thrash metal collaboration of Max Cavalera of [a=Sepultura] and Alex Newport of [a=Fudge Tunnel], it was a short-lived project as the group only released a studio album [I]"Point Blank"[/I] in 1994, did only two live shows, one at a small venue called Club Dinamo and their last concert at the '95 [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/343894]Dynamo Open Air Festival[/url], which was later released that same year as [i]"Proud To Commit Commercial Suicide"[/I], with two additional new studio tracks, the backing band for that show included [a=Dave Edwardson] from [a=Neurosis] on bass, [a=Rhys Fulber] of [a=Front Line Assembly] on keys and sampler, and a rotating cast a drummers consisting of [a=Igor Cavalera], [a=Barry Schneider] of [a=Tribe After Tribe] and [a=D.H. Peligro] of the [a=Dead Kennedys]. The project ended that year as Alex had no interest in recording a new album nor touring. Max Cavalera has since 2017 done a few tours performing [I]"Point Blank"[/I] in its entirety with his main project [a=Soulfly], having his son [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/2774223]Igor Jr.[/url] doing the vocal parts of Newport as well as playing keys and samples. On August 2024 Max Cavalera anounced that Nailbomb reunites as a part of "Max Cavalera Dynasty Tour" with his son Igor and [a=Travis Stone] both on guitar, [a=Johny Chow] on bass, [a=Adam Jarvis] on drums and [a=Alex Cha] on sampling/keyboards as the touring line-up.
