Mic Geronimo (real name Michael Craig McDermon, born September 14, 1973, in Flushing, New York) is an American rapper known for his contributions to the 1990s underground hip-hop scene. He gained recognition with his debut album The Natural (1995), featuring production from DJ Irv (later [a=Irv Gotti]) and appearances by [a=Jay-Z], [a=DMX], and [a=The LOX] before they became mainstream stars. His gritty lyricism and streetwise storytelling resonated with fans of East Coast hip-hop. His second album, Vendetta (1997), marked a shift towards a more commercial sound, including collaborations with [a=Puff Daddy] and the Bad Boy camp. Despite industry changes, Mic Geronimo remained respected for his early work, which showcased his raw talent and authentic representation of New York hip-hop.
