Biography

Mauricio Castillo Rivas (born in Cali, Colombia, on June 6, 1978), is a Colombian singer, actor, composer, trombonist and music producer. He became known mainly for his role as "Wilson Manyoma" in the TV series "El Joe, la leyenda" and for being a former singer of the [a=Grupo Niche]. He has a successful career within the musical and interpretive field in Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and other Latin American countries. He has prepared themes for works by [a=Oscar D' León], [a=Joe Arroyo] and [a=Naty Botero]. As a composer he has written songs for important orchestras and singers such as [a=Los Titanes] and [a=Los Hermanos Moreno] among others. He has also participated as a trombonist, percussionist, producer and mixing engineer in projects for [a=Yuri Buenaventura], [a=Charlie Zaa], [a=Son De Cali], [a=Ismael Miranda], [a=Calambuco], [a=Mojarra Electrica], [a=Julio Nava], [a=Tito Nieves] and [a=N'Klabe]. He became known internationally for playing "Félix" in the Disney film inspired by Colombian culture Encanto and being a participant in the hit song "We Don't Talk About Bruno".
