Biography

Israeli DJ, producer. Born 5 June 1988 in Ashkelon, Israel. Became interested in electronic music at age of 11 when he discovered the local Hard and Psy Trance artist scene. Signed his first record "Ministry Of Love" to the UK label [l=Lost Language] under his Progressive Trance alias [a=Pillow One] in 2005, at age 17. In the same year, he sent a demo CD of [Link] to [l=Anjunadeep]. Since then, he became a semi-regular family member of [l=Anjunabeats]. In the early years, he produced music together with his friends like his homies [a=Yankle] ([a=Yoni Yarchi]), [a=Raul Siberdi], Liad Shiri, or the Swedish [a=Matias Lehtola]. He also tried out many things like Tech Trance under the alias [a=Maori], Techno under [a=Mister M (4)], Goa Trance under [a=M.A.O.R.], Uplifting under [a=MLV], Deep Progressive under [a=Verny], Electro and Tech House under [a=Roam L]; and he had an alias [a=123XYZ], which was created during his army servance between 2007 and 2009 as an incognito at first. His first notable success was with [Link] EP in 2007, from which "Reflect" has been selected first onto [a=Mark Pledger]'s [Link] mix before the release date, but became popular mostly because of [a=DJ Tiësto]'s [Link] mix. With that aformentioned, "Reflect" become one of Maor's most played and streamed tracks - as it was stated on [a=Above & Beyond]'s [Link] compilation as well, consisting of the Anjunabeats label's most sold records until then. After founding a stalwart friendship with [a=Ilan Bluestone] and making numerous tunes together, he travelled into more mainstream fields. He founded the Dubstep / Electro group [a=Lazer Lazer Lazer] with [a=Bruce Karlsson], also [a=Bad Royale] with Bruce, [a=Elias Ghosn] and [a=Kevin Wild] in 2015 with similar style. He slowly but surely felt that may his solo career has been a little taken into background according to these projects, also he started to miss the more atmospheric and emotional sounds which he states his trademarks. After this partial hiatus, he gravitated back to his solo career and left the group Bad Royale in 2017. Since then, he founded the Trance trio [a=Elysian (11)] with ilan and [a=Emma Hewitt] in 2020, but his main focus is permanently on his solo career and findig new sounds that can be fusioned with Trance - which he often mentions with the terminus "Tronce".
