Biography

LL Cool J (Ladies Love Cool James) is a rapper from Queens, New York City. Born January 14, 1968 in Long Island, New York as the son of [a907818], he moved to Queens at four years old. His grandfather bought him a mixing table around nine years old and LL began to record tapes in his home. Inevitably, he sent his tapes to various record labels and finally interested Def Jam Productions. In 1984 they signed him and released his first single, "I Need A Beat." The single sold more than 100,000 copies and established LL Cool J in the rap industry. His debut album, I Can't Live Without My Radio, (which went platinum) was recorded in 1985 after LL left high school to pursue a career in music. 1987 marked the release of his second album Bigger and Deffer, which soared to the No. 3 spot on the pop charts with the help of the hit single, "I Need Love". The single "Goin' Back to Cali" appeared on the Less Than Zero soundtrack in 1988, boosting his rap/pop crossover popularity. After releasing his album Mama Said Knock You Out in 1990, he starred in two movies and appeared and performed at the MTV Inaugural Ball in honor of President Clinton. Throughout the mid-90s, LL continued to branch out into acting, taking roles in films such as Woo, Halloween: H20, and the Oliver Stone football opus Any Given Sunday. During this time, he released All World: Greatest Hits (1996) and Phenomenon (1997), an album that did not do well commercially or critically. LL confirmed his attraction to acting over the next few years, taking a small part in 2000’s Charlie’s Angels and then scoring a starring role in the 2002 remake of Rollerball.

LYRICS

They call me Big L'why, Big Silly
Big Money, Big Billy
When I'm sliding in them all can ya hear me?
I be sexing wit these bars so ya feel me
Let me grip it up for 'cause in the back
Let me grip it get a buzz in ya hat
I'm a tell ya how to cause an attack
Timbaland, Ladies Love on the track

Lovely get the ice, pop champagne
Don't forget I used to ride on the train
When I bump it right, call my name
Go crazy in the mall wit James

Dump that, not ill like me
Bring the women in to chill for free
Let me tell ya girl, don't try me
You better have I.D.!

[Chorus: x2]
'Cause we be up in the club
We be posting the back
When we be in the club
Girls always come to the back
And we bout to get our head sprung
And we bout to get our head sprung
And we bout to get our head sprung
And we bout to get our head sprung

Lord have mercy! If the broad is thirsty
I'll have her man reimburse me
The part that hurts me, is when they try to work me
But I could never let ya jerk me

Steady sticking to the wall, give it up
Sneaking through the back door live it up
Got the champagne, pour me a cup
Got the girls looking raw in the front

Got a call your man's in town
Tell the bar, a-nother round
Got all my mans holding me down
Kinda thick ma, let's get down, so get wit it

I'm saying what time want to dip wit it?
Got playas on the grind, want to skip wit it
Backstage you mine, I'm a spit wit it, hey!

[Chorus: x2]

[Bridge]
Hey ladies! (Yeah!)
No need to get your hair done
I said yo ladies! (Yeah!)
No need to get your hair done

I'm a get your head sprung, I'm a get your head sprung
I'm a get your head sprung, I'm a get your head sprung
I said yo fellas (Yo!)
No need to throw them ones

I said yo fellas (Yo!)
No need to throw them ones
I'm a get your head sprung, I'm a get your head sprung
I'm a get your head sprung, I'm a get your head sprung (Hey!)

[Chorus: x2]

[Outro]
Yeah! Keep chillin wit em, yeah
