Biography

Norwegian progressive/avant-garde metal band from founded in 2001 in Notodden, Norway by singer and keyboardist [a=Einar Solberg] and guitarist [a=Tor Oddmund Suhrke]. After releasing two demos with relatively unstable lineups, the band released their first studio album, Tall Poppy Syndrome, in 2009, which mixed progressive metal and progressive rock styles, but encompasses a wide array of influences and sounds. They subsequently gained prominence as the live backing band of [a=Ihsahn] (who is Solberg's brother-in-law), who, in turn, contributed on several Leprous records as guest singer or producer. In 2011 Leprous released Bilateral, followed two years later with Coal, which defines a new experimental direction for the band, developed with The Congregation (2015). In 2017 Leprous took a more rock-oriented and less metal approach with Malina (2017), their first record not to feature harsh vocals. Two years later they released Pitfalls, more electronic/symphonic-oriented.

LYRICS

It's over now
I look back at the confrontation
The silent revelation
Still can't reset
It's becoming an, becoming an addiction
Like I'm hung up on affliction

Even though it's gone
It feels the same
In the prison of my thoughts

I've been searching for it
I've been dreaming about it
I've been searching for it

I've been searching for it
I've been dreaming about this life, this life
I'm not ready for it
I'm still holding on to doubt, doubt

I've been searching for it
I've been dreaming about this life, this life
I'm not ready for it
I'm still holding on to doubt, doubt

Eventually alone
The beast is gone
But I'm trapped in his cage
Still absorbed by the rage

Nails are stuck
Stuck under my skin
Trying to remove them
Will just be causing more pain

Even though it's gone
It feels the same
In the prison of my thoughts

My mind is a prison
My thoughts are invisible
My thoughts, my thoughts

I've been searching for it
I've been dreaming about this life, this life
I'm not ready for it
I'm still holding on to doubt, doubt

I've been searching for it
I've been dreaming about this life, life
I'm not ready for it
I'm still holding on to doubt, doubt
