Biography
Detroit soul producer, songwriter and deejay, co-owner of the production company [l389971] with [a248249]. Also founded the Detroit soul labels [l51290] and [l162403]. His [l389971] also distributed [l104131] records. Worked at [l108180] Record's studio, which later became [l1723]'s "Studio B". As a Detroit deejay, he introduced [a100591] to [a899381], who signed him to [l108180] and later created [l44478] (which were both later purchased by [l1723]). LeBaron received a writing credit for [a100591]'s first single [Link], which was credited to his real name [a965107]. In the late Sixties he left Detroit, joining Philadelphia station WDAS in the position of general manager, whereupon he met [a3929904]. Ms. Bacone had written ‘Please Don’t Rush Me’ recorded by Kenny Gamble for his Gamble label in 1968 on the Baby Dolls. When Bacone’s husband was shot in a gang war, Taylor came to the family’s aid.” Later he was made director of A&R for [l681] Records. Taylor joined CBS Records in 1974 as vice president of special markets. As the 21st century began, he was both the Senior V.P of Corporate Affairs for Sony Music Entertainment and V.P. of Corporate Affairs for Sony Software Corporation. LeBaron died July 19, 2000 in New York.
