Biography

Russian dub artist, producer, mixing & mastering engineer, creator & promoter, soundsystem operator, dub school principal When Arto first visited Jamaica in July 2013, he met a farmer named Mark and a fisherman named Aaron. Jamaicans were very helpful and were happy to accompany the artist on a journey through the island. Once Aaron told Arto that there is a recording studio in his native fishing village on the west coast of the island . Arto decided immediately to go there and record the song "NUH SELL YOURSELF", which he sang all the way, wandering along with the farmer and fishermen through evergreen Jamaica. HighWave Studio is located in Negril, directly on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. Agreeing with the elderly dreadlock engineer - the owner of the studio, the musician started to work. Arto wrote a simple version of the famous Jamaican riddim "Cuss Cuss", using the tools available in the studios: broken drums, dusty keys and bass. When riddim was ready, Arto, Mark and Aaron recorded their voices. The room was cramped after recording and stuffy, but sea breeze and sandy beach met musicians on the way out . After recording Aaron invited Marka and Arto to go to his fishing lodge, which was nearby. Musician enjoy the taste of fried sea fish, listening to the stories of farmer and fishermen, while the aged engineer completed the mastering of the song "NUH SELL YOURSELF".
