Karen was born on November the 22nd, 1978, in South Korea to a Korean mother and Polish father. She grew up in Englewood, New Jersey, and attended Oberlin College, but transferred to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She is best known as the vocalist for New York Band the [a=Yeah Yeah Yeahs].
