José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz (Mexico City, February 17, 1948 - September 28, 2019), better known as José José, was a Mexican singer, author, actor and music producer, known in the entertainment world as the "Prince of Song". He has sold more than 250 million records, making him one of the most successful Latin American singers in history. His music has reached non-Spanish speaking countries such as Saudi Arabia, Japan, Israel, Egypt and Russia. On September 28, 2019, he died in a hospital in the city of Homestead Florida at the age of 71.
