Biography

British multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, and artist. Born: 2 August 1994 in Finchley, North London, UK. Collier incorporates elements from a variety of musical genres (jazz in particular), and often focuses his compositions and arrangements around varying types of harmonization. Among nine total Grammy Award nominations as of November 2021, Collier is the first British artist to receive an award for each of an artist's first four studio albums, winning a total of five to date. He started releasing Youtube videos in the late 2000s, often featuring quarter-note harmonies, soon releasing some tracks on [l=Bandcamp] where jazz pianist [a=Herbie Hancock] picked up on them, and eventually connecting with world-renowned producer [a=Quincy Jones] – both of which helped him launch his career. Later, film music composer/producer [a=Hans Zimmer] connected with him, with Collier doing a version of track the "Flintstones" on his debut album "[Link]" (2016). He also began doing a multi-month world tour, performing with [a=Jules Buckley] and the [a=Metropole Orchestra] and many others across genres for his series of three albums "[url=https://www.discogs.com/master/1522891-Jacob-Collier-With-Metropole-Orkest-Conducted-By-Jules-Buckley-Djesse-Vol-1]Djesse[/url]" (2018-2020), pronounced "jay cee" after Collier's initials. He has also worked with another of his idols, US vocal harmony group [a=Take 6], who featured with others including his mother [a6960254] at his own night at "The Proms" annual summer of classical music concerts held at the [a=Royal Albert Hall] in London, UK – where they also played footage of his grandfather [a562375] playing lead orchestra violin at a Proms performance in 1964. Son of classical violinist, conductor, and music teacher [a6960254]; maternal grandson of violinist and orchestra leader [a562375].

LYRICS

She put sunshine into my silhouette
Was feeling heavy and she got me drunk instead
Corner to corner, line by line
She's making me dream out loud
She put sunshine into my open mouth
Too many words gave me something to sing about
Morning to morning, rhyme by rhyme
She's giving me back my smile
She's keeping warm all the while

She knows just how to wake me
She paints me gold and shakes me

I get a little lonely
And she comes to me
She illuminates me
And if she ever gets close to me
Well it's plain to see
She'd incinerate me
But I don't mind her
Giving me her sunshine smile

She put sunshine onto my Internet
Connection was low, she put a ring on it
Colder and colder, crime to crime
She's opening up windows
To everything I don't know

She knows just how to fake me
She paints me bold and stakes me high

I get a little lonely
And she comes to me
She illuminates me
And if she ever gets close to me
Well it's plain to see
She'd incinerate me
But I don't mind her
Giving me her sunshine smile

Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
And again, and again, and again, and a–
Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
And again, and again, and again, and a–

Trees, to cover me
Good morning sunshine
Bees, a remedy
And again, and again, and again, and a–
(Good morning, hallelujah)
Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
And again, and again, and again, and a–
Good morning sunshine

Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
She put sunshine into my silhouette
Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
She put sunshine onto my Internet
Trees, to cover me
Bees, a remedy
Trees, to cover me
She put sunshine onto my Internet

But I get a little lonely
And she comes to me
She illuminates me
And if she ever gets close to me
Well it's plain to see
She'd incinerate me

But I get a little lonely
And she comes to me
She illuminates me
And if she ever gets close to me
Well it's plain to see
But I don't mind her giving me her sunshine smile

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And again, and again, and again, and a–
