Biography

Indigenous originated in the year 2001 when rap accomplices Spok and Static served their grocery-raps to cooking DJ Glue. The result seemed to turn out quite tasty and resulted in a first demo called demoN. The year after, a second demo came out, titled "van all ear", a west-flemish translation for "Indigenous", because that's where the boys originate from: West - Flanders, the city of Bruges. In the meanwhile, two hungry, sweet lipped girls Emily and Leen joined the NDG kitchen and the band became a five piece, and they still are… Through devotion and with the help of an enthousiastic indigenous partyshakers team, the group has built up a live reputation that is trendsetting for the Belgian hiphop platform. Serving musical delicacy is an Indigenous standard, it's up to the audience to consume at wish. The mix of modesty, sobriety, thought, enthousiasm and appetite marks the difference between Indigenous and the image of modern times fastfood hiphopland. Indigenous is a homemade product, and this product serves no other purpose than literally "keeping it real"!

LYRICS

As I close my eyes a dream comes to me of the wind blowing leaves
and whisper to me oh yeah
Chorus
Ooh said it should've never been this way now we don't wanna go back
to the way we were the way we were

Beneath her lonely soul her heart has turned to stone because of the things
we do and we don't wanna change the things we do

Chorus
Ooh said it should've never been this way now we don't wanna go back
to the way we were the way we were
