Biography

I’m With Her is Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O’Donovan. An impromptu show in 2014 at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, CO, sparked the formation of I’m With Her and sent the trio touring the world together the next year. Along the way, I’m With Her formed a special, family-like chemistry, garnering acclaim for their unique blend of instrumental interplay combined with their indelible harmonies, as the New York Times describes, “... that could be sweetly ethereal, or as tightly in tandem as country sibling teams like the Everly Brothers, or as hearty as mountain gospel.”

LYRICS

Sunlight breaking through the blinds
Someone shouts, "Come on, it's time"
Rushing out the door and buckle up
Digging around in the tapes on the passenger side
Push one in, press rewind
And windshield wipers keeping time

Ooh, when I was nine
Heard you singing about the five and dime
"What's that?" I asked and my mama said
"They were everywhere when I was a kid"

I hear the fiddle and the bow
Still playing long after the show
And your voice runs likе the Brazos through me
Wild and clear and bluе

Feet shuffling 'cross the floor
Moonlighting at a record store
Thumbing through the bins to find a friend
I pick one out and I put it on
Dancing alone to my favorite song
Under the flicker of fluorescent lights

Ooh, when I was nine
Heard you singing about paradise
"What's that?" I asked and my mama said
"That was everywhere when I was a kid"

I hear the fiddle and the bow
Still playing long after the show
And your voice runs like the Brazos through me
Wild and clear and blue

Now I'm rolling down all my windows
While the wild birds cut lines across the sky
Your voices are swirling around me
Driving into the west Texas night
Breathing in the scent of the sagebrush
Tears cutting lines across my face
Now the static is slowing replacing
The sounds of my childhood days

We were singing about paradise
"What's that?" I asked and my mama said
"That was everywhere when I was a kid"

I hear the fiddle and the bow
Still playing long after the show
And love runs like the Brazos through me
Wild and clear and blue
Wild and clear and blue
Wild and clear and blue
