Biography

When the Geto Boys came together in 1986, though, it was with a completely different lineup. Formed as "The Ghetto Boys" in Houston by rap entrepreneur [a=James Smith]. The group originally consisted of [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/54490-Raheem]Raheem[/url], [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/4844153-Thelton-Polk]Sir Rap-A-Lot[/url], and [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/2930832-Sire-Jukebox]The Slim Jukebox[/url]. That line-up released only a 12'' single "Car Freak" before Raheem and K9/Sir Mix A Lot quitting. New members [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Johnny+C+%282%29]Prince Johnny C.[/url] and [a=DJ Ready Red] would join and they would release "You Ain't Nothing/I Run This". After that release dancer/hypeman Little Billy was added. That line-up lasted until the release of their debut album "Making Trouble" which had little recognition. The line-up would be revamped with Johnny C and Jukebox leaving, dancer/hyperman Little Billy becoming rapper [a=Bushwick Bill], and two Rap-A-Lot solo acts as new additions in DJ Akshen better later known as rapper [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Scarface+%283%29]Scarface[/url] and [a=Willie D]. From then on they were known as "The Geto Boys".
