George Strait (born May 18, 1952, Poteet, Texas, USA) is an American country music singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. Raised in Pearsall, Texas. Served in the U.S.Army from 1972-74. Graduated from Southwest Texas State with a degree in agriculture. Formed the Ace in the Hole band in 1975. Starred in the movie Pure Country in 1992. Has 43+ #1 C&W hits. Inducted into the Country & Western Hall of Fame in 2006. Father of [a3924023].
