Biography

American alternative rock band founded in 1990 in Los Angeles and disbanded in 1997. After a 16-year hiatus, they reunited in 2014 for a Los Angeles show at El Ray which sold out in 4 minutes, followed by the "Tree of Stars" US tour. In 2015, they released and toured to support a new album, "The Heart Is A Monster". In 2016, they embarked on a new tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album "Fantastic Planet", which they played in its entirety. March 14th, 2018 they announced their intention to release 4 EP's which, when put together, would form the completed album "In The Future Your Body Will Be The Furthest Thing From Your Mind". The complete finished album was released in its entirety November 16th, 2018. Failure toured this album starting March 11th, 2019. On July 3, 2020, the band released a re-recorded cover of Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence", titled "Enjoy the Silence 2020".

LYRICS

I got high on scrapping from my nails
now I'm back down my eyes are growing dark
my burnt spoon has dried beneath the bed
and I'm dreaming of drity blue balloons
I've waited so long without you
I've waited too long for you

He came in, he didn't speak my language
I paid him with everything I had
and promised next time he opened up his mouth
and then they floated out dirty blue balloons

Nothing helps and no one else
can make it feel okay float me through the day
nothing helps and no one else
can make it feel alright float me through the night
I can not let 'em go
dirty blue balloons
