Biography

An English singer and songwriter, born 30 December 1986 Hereford, England. In 2010 she became the second artist to both top the BBC's annual Sound of... poll and win the Critics' Choice Award at the Brit Awards in the same year, following Adele's win of both in 2008. After signing to Polydor Records in 2009, she released her first EP in 2009, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding. Goulding released her debut studio album, Lights, in 2010. The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and has sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Her cover of Elton John's "Your Song" reached number two in the UK in December 2010. On 29 April 2011 she performed the song at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Buckingham Palace. The album's title track, "Lights", was released in the US in March 2011, and reached its peak position of number two on the Billboard Hot 100 nearly a year and a half later during its thirty-third week charting, completing one of the longest ever climbs into the top two positions on the chart. The single was also certified triple platinum by the RIAA. Goulding has a soprano vocal range and her musical style has been compared to that of Kate Nash, Meiko, Lykke Li and Tracey Thorn.

LYRICS

You can worry 'bout this
You can worry 'bout that
You can worry 'bout she
You can worry 'bout this
You can worry 'bout that
You can worry 'bout she

Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me
Lately I don't think, I don't think about you, feelin' so free
Been jumpin' through hoops to get under you, but now I'm cool
Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me

Been havin' good times, been havin' late nights, yeah
And then you call me (Call me)
Ask if I'm all right, what the hell?
Saying that you care about me
But you just wanna be in my head 'cause you're lonely
I thought I needed you to feel safe
But now that I've been through it, I'm stuck in a good place
Ooh, why you tryna put me in a different mood?
Just because I'm still out seein' someone new?

Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me
Lately I don't think, I don't think about you, feelin' so free
Been jumpin' through hoops to get under you, but now I'm cool
Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me

You can worry 'bout this
You can worry 'bout that
You can worry 'bout she (Don't worry 'bout me)
You can worry 'bout this (Yeah, yeah)
You can worry 'bout that (Uh, uh)
You can worry 'bout she (Beartrap)
Don't worry 'bout me

She say, "Why you gotta hit me on some 'I don't know' shit?"
I am not your property; who led you to that notion?
Action speakin' louder than whatever you been smokin'
You don't gotta try and fix somebody that ain't broken, no
And you don't gotta worry where I'm at or where I'm goin' (Goin')
Somewhere by my lonesome (Lonesome)
Somewhere by the ocean (Ocean)
She can feel her nose loose
Oh, shit, the way you kill my vibe is so atrocious, it's bogus
I blocked you 'cause I don't live in the past, live in the moment
Last time that you hit me up, I wrote this

Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me (Oh, yeah)
Lately (Lately) I don't think, I don't think about you, feel in' so free
Been jumpin' through hoops to get under you, but now I'm cool
Baby, you don't gotta, you don't gotta worry, worry 'bout me

You can worry 'bout this
You can worry 'bout that
You can worry 'bout she (Don't worry 'bout me)
You can worry 'bout this
You can worry 'bout that
You can worry 'bout she (Don't worry 'bout me)
