[a1962236] were a quintet from Ithaca, a college town in upstate New York. To say they were the prototypical college-rock band would be right on the money, as all five members attended Ithaca College at the time, and seemingly made headway on their school station, WICB. Though they state in their bio that [a28972] and the [a258153] made the biggest impression on them, [a1962236]'s mildly downcast but chiming guitar pop also fell into the realm of [a276605], [a299895], and even [a18547]. Their debut album was [r2471504] and it was only released on vinyl back in 1989 on BCMK Records (a label based in Buffalo, NY). Members: [a1962238], Jim Shea, [a1308303].
