Biography

Echo Train is a psychedelic rock band conceived in Athens in 2016, by the guitarist/ producer Greggy K, the singer/performer Ren Water, and their fellow art photographer G. Lathyris, during a performance in a theatre play. They say the Echo is their muse, and the train is the vehicle they chose to transport their soul in the spiral forms of time. After recording their first demos and musical ideas at “Astrostudio” in Kypseli, joined by many friends and musicians, in December 2016 psychedelic collective Echo Train revealed its debut album “Memento Mori”. It is a colorful journey into pagan landscapes and sounds, with outbursts of 60s pop psychedelia, reverberated blues, and lots of hallucinating climaxes. The album received very positive reviews from the music press and psych forums. They’ve played at numerous venues and festivals in Greece. They performed as the opening act for “The Underground Youth” in 2016 and for the psych band "The Dandelion" in 2019 in Athens. In 2017 they released the song "Portland 69/ The Whisperer", in a split single with German psych band Vibravoid, exclusively recorded for the Timemazine fanzine that is worldwide distributed. In the same year, they performed on a tour in Germany, including "The Psychedelic Network Festival". In 2022 they released their album "Libation" with free creative expression, musical themes steeped in 60's blues, Wiccan occult elegies, and straightforward songwriting. It has been on most of the best album lists for 2022. Echo Train's live performances are influenced by the psychedelic rock and garage music of the 60s, with unique moments of improvising, spontaneity, sharing tales, and praising the wolf and the moon. The band: Ren vocals theremin, Greggy K. and Rush Nobo guitars, Kostis Papagianopoulos Bass, and Gregorio Perico drums.
