[b]Soul - disco vocal quintet[/b] Formed in 1963, Washington, DC, U.S. They gained popularity for their refined harmony vocals as well as the fact that lead vocalist [a=Tony Washington (7)] was openly gay and performed quite often in drag. Released four albums, mid-70's at Motown. Their biggest hit is the romantic sweet soul ballad "Shoe Shoe Shine". In 1980 they released their last album, "The Sky's The Limit" at [l11219]. They shared some members with [a=The Flamingos] for a while.
