Domi and JD Beck (stylized as DOMi & JD BECK) are a French-American jazz duo consisting of French keyboardist Domi Louna and American drummer JD Beck. Domi Louna (born Domitille Degalle) started playing piano, keyboard, and drums at age 3. From the age of 5 she was enrolled at the Conservatoire régional du Grand Nancy (Greater Nancy Regional Conservatory) studying jazz and classical music and later studied at the Conservatoire de Paris (Paris Conservatory). After moving to the United States, she studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Massachusetts. JD Beck was born and raised near Dallas, Texas. He first began playing piano at age 5 and started playing drums at age 9. From the age of 10, he received mentorship from and began playing gigs with [a4168346] (of [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/10995-Erykah-Badu]Erykah Badu[/url]'s band), [a1102239], and soul musician [a3783379]. The duo formed after meeting in 2018, and began working on their debut album "Not Tight' in 2019. Critically acclaimed, it entered the Billboard 'Top Contemporary Jazz Albums' chart reaching the number one peak position. Subsequently, the album was Grammy Award nominated for 'Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album' in 2022.
