Biography
Deftones is an American alternative metal band from Sacramento, California, formed in 1988. As of 2025, they have released ten albums, with three Platinum (Adrenaline, Around the Fur, White Pony) and one Gold certifications (Deftones). The band consists of [a=Chino Moreno] (lead vocals and guitar), [a=Stephen Carpenter] (guitar), [a=Fred Sablan] (bass), [a=Frank Delgado] (keyboards and turntables), and [a=Abe Cunningham] (drums and percussion). Since 2009, [a=Sergio Vega] has been standing in on bass while founding bassist [a=Chi Cheng] remained in a "partially conscious state" following a car accident. Chi passed away on April 13, 2013. On March 8, 2022, Sergio announced his departure from the band.
