Biography

Born in Newark (NJ), Chavell grew up singing in church and has been singing ever since. Chavell got a good head start in the music when she was asked to replace an artist at a local studio, little did she know this would be the launch of her career. Once at the studio Chavell was introduced to [a=Kerri Chandler]. Kerri presented Chavell with the song he wanted her to sing but she turned down the song and replaced it with one of her own 'Super Lover'. A copy of 'Super Lover' was given to the well known and respected DJ [a=Tony Humphries]. He broke the song on his master mix dance party show on 98.7 Kiss FM and at Club Zanzibar in Newark (NJ) where he was a resident DJ. 'Super Lover' became a hit and was signed to a singles deal on Atlantic Records and before long 'Super Lover' was blazing the Billboard charts.

LYRICS

Keep my pair of senses
Out of where it isn't clear
Kept his false creation
Teach on my own faith
Right I'll wreck this, too
But you made by day
I'll fail you, too
Speak through this voice, and
We can have life to take
And mend these ways
We don't need tradition
This will wreck our mission
This isn't even clear
It doesn't tell they why
This is an incomplete
It doesn't tell the why
Even if I was all knowing
Wouldn't it mean that I love you?
See you move against ignorance
Why not try and get in
This isn't even clear
It doesn't tell the why
This is an incomplete
It doesn't tell the why
Set out a boom and line
What have scholars caught
Look to yourself to find a God.
No, a lie, and
We can have life to take,
And mend these ways
We don't need tradition,
This will wreck our mission
This isn't even clear
It doesn't tell the why
This is an incomplete
It doesn't tell the why
