Biography
He was born near Frankfurt, Germany in 1959. He began ten years of classical piano training at the age of eight; five years later, Dallwitz began writing songs and music wich he performed with his own three piece band. At age fifteen, he formed a duet for wich he also wrote and arranged songs. He studied music at Melbourne's Latrobe University. Dallwitz majored in composition and studied advanced composition under the tutelage of professor Keith Humble. Since 1984, Dallwitz has worked as a composer for film and television. In 1996, he released his first CD of original works, "Worlds Apart". He has won two Screen Music Awards from the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (1993 & 1996), and was additionally nominated twice in 1996 & 1997. He is currently developing a contemporary music drama/opera for film in collaboration with an artist and animator, to be produced by the Australian Broadcasting Commission, OzOpera and MusicArtDance Films.
