Originally a duo of Keith Girdler (vocals) and Paul Stewart (guitars), Blueboy rose from the ashes of Reading band Feverfew. Mark Cousens (bass), Gemma Townley (cello, vocals), Lloyd Haggar (drums) and ex-Field Mouse Harvey Williams (guitar) joined the line-up, with Martin Rose later taking over on drums. They released six 7"s and two LPs on [l=Sarah Records], and two 7"s and an album on [l=Shinkansen Recordings]. Blueboy reformed early in 2024, releasing two singles and a live album via [l=Precious Recordings Of London] and a new album in September 2025 via [l=Popkiss Recordings].

LYRICS

we find a room
a chance to explore the things we both need
a candle burns so how did i get in this mess?
how did i stop feeling less?
i don't know
all i wanted to say was i'm so happy
of course it's not love
but i'm not choosey
smash through my heart
feel it crack like a star in the sky seeks oblivion
getting drunk with the public
who think they know me but very few really do
all i wanted to say was i'm so happy
of course it's not love
but i'm not choosey
i just want to kiss you in new places
to savor the joy of living
liking you, doo doot doo doot doot doot doo doot doo
all i wanted to say was i'm so happy
of course it's not love
but i'm not choosey
all i wanted to say was i'm so happy
of course it's not love
but i'm not choosey
i just want to kiss you in new places
to savor the joy of living
liking you, doo doot doo doot doot doot doo doot doo
i'll never fall in love fall in love
the sweet refrain sung twice at morning-time
save me, i beg you
now goodbye
