Biography

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981, The Bangles are an American band, who had several hit singles throughout the 1980s. The band's hits included "Walk Like An Egyptian", "Hazy Shade Of Winter", and the 1989 No.1 single "Eternal Flame". The band officially broke up in 1989 and almost ten years later in 1998, started drifting back together. In 1999, they officially re-formed to record a song for the soundtrack of "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me". The reunion continued with a tour in 2000 and in 2003 they released "Doll Revolution", their first album since 1988's "Everything". In 2005, The Bangles announced the departure of [a=Michael Steele] who left due to artistic disputes over touring and recording. Steele was replaced by touring bassist [a=Abby Travis] for live appearances. In the spring of 2009, The Bangles returned to the studio to begin work on a new album, "Sweetheart of The Sun". It was released on September 27, 2011. LYRICS

I hear you through the wire
The words all sound like noise
What happened to the fire in your voice
Don't try to hide the distance
It's just too big to ignore
We work it out like business
It won't work anymore.

I remember eyes that shined
As they looked so hard back into mine
Now it's just a memory
So I'll set you free (I'll set you free)
(I'll) set you free.

Still sometimes late at night
Moonlight comes into my window
I can make believe it's how it used to be
We made it look so easy
We never tried to resist
Somehow you stopped believing
Somehow we've come to this.

I remember eyes that shined
As they looked so hard back into mine
Now it's just a memory
So I'll set you free
I remember words that fell
Like coins into a wishing well
It was never meant to be
So I'll set you free (I'll set you free)
(I'll) set you free.

So now I must go on
What more can I do
What good is being strong
When all I ever really want is you.

I remember eyes that shined
As they looked so hard back into mine
Now it's just a memory
So I'll set you free
I remember words that fell
Like coins into a wishing well
It was never meant to be
So I'll set you free (I'll set you free)
(I'll) set you free.

I remember eyes that shined (I remember)
As they looked so hard back into mine (all I want is you)
All I want is you
(I remember) I remember words that fell
Like coins into a wishing well (all I want is you)
It's you want that I want
It's you want but I won't tell, oh
I remember eyes that shined
As they looked so hard back into mine (all I want is you).
