Biography
Swedish band from Stockholm consisting of six members: Stefan Edlund (vocals), Anders Nylander (guitar), Michael Blomquist (drums), Peter Lindvall (keyboards), Hans Lindqvist (bass) and Kenneth Fridén (guitar). The band took its name from the Baden-Baden chair. Blomquist, Lindvall and Fridén had previously (1976-1977) played in the dance band Kennix. In 1988, Lindqvist, who helped start the band Sha-Boom was replaced by Martin Flodén. Baden-Baden participated in the Melodifestivalen 1986 with Jag har en dröm , which ended in a shared sixth place. However, the song became a hit at Svensktoppen. In 1987, they participated again with the song Leva livet, which ended up in a split seventh place. Before participating in the Swedish Melodifestivalen, the band had been a great success and won three awards at the Sopotfestivalen, the former Eastern Bloc's response to the Eurovision Song Contest, in Poland in 1984. After successful tours in 1986 and 1987, the band continued as a pure cover band and played with varying line-ups throughout the 1990s.
