Biography

Mexican lyrical tenor, songwriter, actor. Alejandro Algara Menéndez (January 25, 1928) rose to fame during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He began his artistic career interpreting boleros by Gonzalo Curiel. Later he interpreted songs by Agustín Lara, with whom he established a great friendship. In addition to being his friend and admirer, he accompanied him on various artistic tours and radio and television presentations, becoming his "exclusive interpreter". In addition to Lara's boleros and songs, he performed songs by other authors such as “Adiós Nicanor”, “La borrachita”, “Dónde estás corazón”, “Adiós mi chaparrita”, “Te quiero dijiste”, “Flor Silvestre”, “Ojos tapatíos”, “Desterrado”, “Cabellera blanca”, “Tú sólo tú”, “La malagueña”, “Españolerías”, “Te he de querer”, “Rayando el sol”, “La barca de oro”, “Enamorada” and “China”.
