[b]5 a Seco[/b] is a Brazilian band formed in 2009 based in São Paulo, Brazil. Since 2010, it comprises the musicians [a6543344], [a3593579], [a7705557], [a5810146] and [a4404133]. The group's name comes from the idea that there are five composer musicians of equal importance, who take turns in the roles, without protagonism, hence the numeral "5" in the name. The name "a seco" comes from the fact that the group performs without accompanying musicians, with the intention that there is a self-sufficiency and an economy of resources. The inspiration for the name came from the well-known chain of laundries 5àsec. In 2010, with the departure of Dani Black to pursue a solo career, the group had a new member, musician Leo Bianchini. In 2011, the group recorded its first DVD, [r14401707], with appearances by renowned artists of Brazilian popular music, such as [a89142], [a1675469], [a392926] and the already former member Dani Black. The album was initially made available for free on the artists' official website for download. In 2014, they recorded their second album, entitled [r13045537], supported by the [l1288727] project. Unlike the previous album, Policromo was recorded in 17 days in a farm-studio in the interior of São Paulo. Adapted for the stage, the show toured several Brazilian capitals, such as Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Belo Horizonte and São Paulo. In 2017, the band went on tour to promote their new album, [r13086117], which was recorded the same year and released on February 23, 2018, using the same strategy to promote the debut album. In April 2019, 5 a Seco announced that they would take an indefinite career break after their 10th anniversary tour, which took place between May and August. That same year, the band released their fourth studio album, [r21604798], on August 5.
